Hull are poised to make George Boateng their third summer signing after agreeing a deal with Middlesbrough for the midfielder. Manager Phil Brown revealed he will now attempt to agree personal terms with the 32-year-old, who has been looking for a new club since being told he could not be guaranteed first-team football at the Riverside.
"The deal between ourselves and Middlesbrough has been agreed," said Brown. "It's now just a matter of fine-tuning the deal between us and George and that's a process that does take time."
Boateng, who cost Middlesbrough £5m from Aston Villa in 2002, has a year remaining on his contract. Brown has already signed Geovanni from Manchester City and Derby's Craig Fagan this summer.
