The Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be reviewing the position of his sporting director, Damien Comolli, after the club's disappointing dealings at the climax of this week's transfer window.
Levy is thought to be angry about the way Comolli handled the search for replacements for Dimitar Berbatov, among others, and the Spurs chairman has left the country to consider the matter before making a decision.
The failure to sign Sergio García from Real Zaragoza - apparently a top priority for the manager Juande Ramos - and Reading's Kevin Doyle may prove to be the most costly of Comolli's perceived mistakes.
