The Lyon striker Karim Benzema says he wants to discuss his future with club president Jean-Michel Aulas at the end of the season with a view to a move abroad - possibly to Manchester United.
The 20-year-old Benzema, who scored a majestic goal against United in last season's Champions League, has been followed by some of Europe's biggest clubs, even though Aulas has set the transfer price at £86m. However, Benzema now admits that one day he wants to join a top club in Europe. Real Madrid, Barcelona, United and AC Milan are among those reportedly interested in signing him.
"There are a lot of clubs, Barça, Real, but also Manchester United, Milan: they are all big clubs you dream about," he said. "I like Spain, but Manchester, Milan, you progress so much there. I want to progress at the highest level to be among the world's best."
Benzema scored more than 30 goals last season in all competitions and has notched eight league goals so far season and three more in the Champions League. However, he has expressed frustration at occasionally being rested by Lyon coach Claude Puel and wants to discuss his transfer value with Aulas at the end of the season.
"We'll have to see that with the president," Benzema said. "People have been shocked because it's a big amount ... We'll finish this season and then we'll see."
