Graeme Souness has ruled himself out of the vacant managerial post at Blackburn Rovers.
The Scot, who managed the Lancashire club between 2000-2004, was seen as a leading candidate to return to Ewood Park following the sacking of Paul Ince on Tuesday, but he has now made it clear he has no interest in the job.
"I don't know anything and have had no contact at all from Blackburn Rovers," Souness told the Lancashire Telegraph. "It doesn't surprise me to see my name in there but I'm not your man, I can definitely say that."
Souness's stance makes it even more likely that Sam Allardyce will now be offered the job. The former Bolton and Newcastle United manager is keen to get back into management after nearly a year out of the game following his sacking at St James' Park.
