Blackburn Rovers v Everton (Wednesday, 8pm)

Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson is a major doubt with a shoulder injury and Jason Brown is set to keep his place in goal should the England international not recover. David Dunn is back in training after a hamstring problem and could step in on the left of midfield to replace the suspended Morten Gamst Pedersen.

Blackburn (from): Robinson, Brown, Ooijer, Khizanishvili, Nelsen, Samba, Simpson, Warnock, Givet, Olsson, Dunn, Villanueva, Grella, Tugay, Andrews, Diouf, Treacy, Mokoena, Haworth, Santa Cruz, McCarthy, Roberts.

Everton expect to be without full-back Tony Hibbert for a month following the thigh strain he picked up in the weekend win over West Brom. Teenager Jack Rodwell returns to David Moyes' squad after missing the West Brom game with a thigh injury.

Everton (from): Howard, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines, Osman, Gosling, Fellaini, Pienaar, Castillo, Saha, Jo, Cahill, Rodwell, Nash, Jacobsen, Van der Meyde, Baxter, Wallace.

Fulham v Hull City (Wednesday, 8pm)

Fulham will be without defender Chris Baird after he suffered a leg injury at Arsenal on Saturday. X-rays showed there was no break but the Northern Ireland international is already a doubt for the FA Cup quarter-final with Manchester United at the weekend.

Fulham (from): Schwarzer, Pantsil, Stoor, Hangeland, Hughes, Konchesky, Davies, Etuhu, Dacourt, Murphy, Gera, Dempsey, Johnson, Zamora, Zuberbuhler, Kallio, Nevland, Kamara, Gray, Barnes.

Hull's captain Ian Ashbee is one of three major injury doubts ahead for the manager Phil Brown. The midfielder played in Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Blackburn despite concerns over a calf injury and Brown admits he is now "struggling" to make the match at Craven Cottage, along with striker Craig Fagan (knee) and defender Michael Turner, who collided with the Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson. Midfielder Dean Marney, who was sent off against Blackburn, and defender Andy Dawson are both suspended.

Hull City (from): Duke, Ricketts Gardner, Turner, Mendy, Zayatte, Kilbane, Garcia, Cousin, Ashbee, Geovanni, Barmby, Fagan, Halmosi, Doyle, Hughes, France, Manucho, Myhill.

Manchester City v Aston Villa (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes will be without strikers Craig Bellamy and Robinho. Bellamy will have a scan later on Tuesday on a knee injury he suffered at West Ham on Sunday. Hughes confirmed it is a fresh problem, not a recurrence of a previous injury, but he still expects the Wales captain to be missing for at least a fortnight. Robinho is also sidelined after picking up a knee injury at Upton Park, while Micah Richards is a major doubt with a hamstring problem.

Manchester City (from): Given, Hart, Schmeichel, Richards, Onuoha, Dunne, Kompany, Bridge, Garrido, Zabaleta, Elano, Caicedo, Ireland, De Jong, Fernandes, Vassell, Weiss, Evans, Bojinov, Logan, Berti.

The Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey is battling to be fit, having been substituted during the 2-2 draw with Stoke at the weekend. Heskey had an ice pack placed on his troublesome achilles tendon immediately after leaving the pitch. John Carew could be set to start his first league game since returning from a back problem last month. Defender Wilfred Bouma has made a reserve-team comeback after eight months out with a dislocated ankle but he will not be considered.

Aston Villa (from): Friedel, Guzan, Cuellar, Knight, Davies, Luke Young, Shorey, Milner, Petrov, Barry, Ashley Young, Gardner, Reo-Coker, Salifou, Sidwell, Carew, Heskey, Agbonlahor, Delfouneso, Harewood.

Newcastle United v Manchester United (7.45pm)

Newcastle midfielder Nicky Butt is out after damaging his knee in Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Bolton and will not make it for the Carling Cup winners' visit to St James' Park, with Geremi or Alan Smith set to deputise. Kevin Nolan will serve the second part of a three-match ban, while Damien Duff (calf), Michael Owen (ankle ligaments), Habib Beye (ankle), Danny Guthrie (hamstring), Joey Barton and Xisco (both fractured metatarsal) are still out.

Newcastle (from): Harper, Forster, S. Taylor, Bassong, Coloccini, Enrique, Edgar, Cacapa, R Taylor, Lovenkrands, Geremi, Donaldson, Ameobi, Jonas, Smith, Viduka, Martins, Carroll.

Wayne Rooney has recovered from a virus and should start for Manchester United. The England striker missed Sunday's Carling Cup win over Tottenham, but has since managed to train, and should be part of a fresh United line-up also containing Dimitar Berbatov, Edwin van der Sar, Michael Carrick, Park Ji-sung and Darren Fletcher, none of whom were involved at Wembley. Defender John O'Shea is the only injury doubt, although the Republic of Ireland international is hopeful of shrugging off a heel injury. Goalkeeper Ben Foster returns to the substitutes' bench after his starring role at Wembley.

Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, Scholes, Carrick, Gibson, Giggs, Park, Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez.

Stoke City v Bolton Wanderers (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Rory Delap has completed a three-match ban and is expected to be recalled to Stoke's starting line-up at home to Bolton tomorrow. Danny Pugh could make way for him, while manager Tony Pulis has other selection headaches after substitutes Ricardo Fuller and Glenn Whelan starred in Saturday's draw at Aston Villa. Pulis will monitor Abdoulaye Faye's condition closely before deciding whether to recall him in place of Ibrahima Sonko. Goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is expected to be fit after a head injury forced his half-time withdrawal on Saturday.

Stoke City (from): Sorensen, Wilkinson, Shawcross, Sonko, Abdoulaye Faye, Higginbotham, Pugh, Lawrence, Diao, Amdy Faye, Whelan, Delap, Cresswell, Beattie, Sidibe, Fuller, Simonsen, Cort, Kelly, Camara, Tonge, Griffin, Kitson, Olofinjana.

Bolton midfielder Ricardo Gardner is looking to claim a place after scoring the winner as a substitute against Newcastle. Manager Gary Megson has no new injury worries.

Bolton (from): Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, A O'Brien, Samuel, K Davies, McCann, Basham, Muamba, Gardner, Taylor, Cohen, Makukula, Puygrenier, Obadeyi, Al Habsi, M Davies, Smolarek, Riga, Hunt, Elmander.

Tottenham Hotspur v Middlesbrough (Wednesday, 8pm)

Tottenham's captain Ledley King will miss the match to rest his knee. Jonathan Woodgate will need a late check on the achilles injury that ruled him out of the Carling Cup final on Sunday and Carlo Cudicini is back following a knee problem. Robbie Keane, Pascal Chimbonda, Fraizer Campbell and Wilson Palacios – who were ineligible for Wembley – are also in the squad, but Jermain Defoe and Alan Hutton (both foot) are still out.

Tottenham (from): Gomes, Cudicini, Corluka, Gunter, Bale, Assou-Ekotto, Chimbonda, Dawson, Woodgate, Lennon, Modric, Jenas, Zokora, Palacios, Bentley, Keane, Pavlyuchenko, Campbell, Bent, Taarabt, O'Hara.

Middlesbrough's manager, Gareth Southgate, has named an unchanged squad after his team came through the victory against Liverpool at the weekend without any major injury problems. Striker Jérémie Aliadière took a couple of knocks in that match but has been able to take a full part in training this week.

Middlesbrough (from): Jones, Turnbull, Hoyte, McMahon, Pogatetz, Taylor, Huth, Wheater, O'Neil, Bates, Walker, Arca, Downing, Johnson, Emnes, Alves, King, Tuncay, Aliadière.

Wigan Athletic v West Ham United (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Winger Antonio Valencia and striker Mido both return to Wigan's squad. The pair have not played since the game against Fulham on 7 February, when Valencia limped off with the recurrence of a hamstring injury and Mido was forced off with a groin problem. Jason Koumas also comes back into contention after missing Saturday's defeat to Chelsea with a thigh injury while fellow midfielder Ben Watson is available again after a one-match suspension.

Wigan (from): Kirkland, Melchiot, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa, Cattermole, Watson, N'Zogbia, Valencia, Kapo, Zaki, Mido, Kingson, Pollitt, Edman, Brown, Boyce, Rodallega, Sibierski, Koumas.

West Ham will be without the midfielder Valon Behrami, who was carried off the pitch with an oxygen tank after badly twisting his knee in Sunday's win over Manchester City. His absence offers an easy route back into the side for Mark Noble who missed that match through suspension, but James Collins (hamstring), Luis Boa Morte (groin), Kieron Dyer (calf), Danny Gabbidon (stomach/back) and Dean Ashton (ankle) remain sidelined.

West Ham (from): Green, Neill, Tomkins, Upson, Ilunga, Noble, Parker, Collison, Kovac, Cole, Di Michele, Lastuvka, Lopez, Savio, Spector, Tristan, Sears, Payne, Stanislas.
