When Wolves briefly led the Premier League in August, Mick McCarthy gave a knowing smile and said it would never last. But even this most pragmatic of Yorkshiremen would not have envisaged his team's slump since. Five successive defeats, three of them at home, have drained confidence at Molineux, and the recent injury to top scorer Steven Fletcher has not brightened the mood. Swansea could be the perfect opposition – they have lost all four away league games so far this season, conceding 12 goals in the process. Paul Chronnell
