Olympic Games: Australians in action on day 16 in Paris

Day 16 begins with the women’s marathon as Sinead Diver, Genevieve Gregson and Jessica Stenson set off as the three runners in green and gold.

The Opals are one win away from Australia’s first Olympic medal in women’s basketball since 2012 as they face Belgium in the play-off for bronze.

Australia has more contenders on the last day of track cycling including men’s sprint silver medallist Matthew Richardson in the men’s keirin.

The Paris Olympiad festivities will conclude with the closing ceremony at 5am AEST.

Here are the Australians to watch on day 16 at Paris 2024 – all times AEST:

Athletics

  • 4pm: Women’s marathon: Sinead Diver, Genevieve Gregson, Jessica Stenson

Basketball

  • 7.30pm: Women’s bronze medal match: Australia Opals v Belgium

Cycling track

  • Women’s omnium – 7pm: scratch race; 7.57pm: tempo race; 8.53pm: elimination race; 9.56pm: points race: Georgia Baker

  • 8.29pm: Men’s keirin semi-finals: Matthew Glaetzer, Matthew Richardson

  • 9.23pm: Men’s keirin finals: Matthew Glaetzer, Matthew Richardson

Modern pentathlon

  • Women’s individual finals – 7pm: riding show jumping; 7.40pm: fencing bonus round; 8.10pm: swimming 200m freestyle; 8.40pm: laser run: Genevieve Janse van Rensburg (TBC)
