Bolton have signed the former Dutch Under-21 international Riga Mustapha on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who was born in Ghana but moved to the Netherlands as a youngster, joins from the Spanish club Levante, where he scored 28 goals in 104 appearances. Mustapha was one of a number of players who protested at Levante's failure to pay them last season, as the club suffered acute financial problems which culminated in their relegation from La Liga.
Mustapha is the Bolton manager Gary Megson's third major signing of the summer, following the capture of Swedish striker Johan Elmander and Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham City.
