Phil Jones has been declared fit for selection for England's World Cup squad. Roy Hodgson has been informed by Manchester United's medical staff and a specialist that the defender has recovered sufficiently from a shoulder injury.
The 22-year-old's fitness for the tournament had been a doubt after he suffered the injury in Manchester United's win over Hull City last week.
It would be a major surprise if Hodgson does not name him at 2pm on Monday in the 23-man squad for Brazil as the manager wants him to cover three positions in Brazil – central defence, right-back and central midfield.
