Manchester City will accept a £4m loss on Georgios Samaras when the Greek international striker moves to Celtic for a knockdown fee of £2m in the next few days. Samaras was signed from Heerenveen for £6m in 2006 and City had agreed a provisional fee of £3m when they loaned him to Celtic last season. However, City are desperate to offload the 23-year-old and have agreed to write off £1m from that amount to ensure a transfer goes through.
