Marco Reus has said that he is staying with Borussia Dortmund for the 2014-15 season, thus ruling out a move to Manchester United.

The attacking midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford and his agent, Sascha Breese, watched Manchester United's win over Norwich City in April together with Sir Alex Ferguson. However, the German international, who has a buy-out clause of €35m, has told Kicker that he has no intention of leaving Dortmund and the Bundesliga this season.

"It's safe to say I will be playing for Borussia Dortmund also in the 2014-15 season," he said. "Basically I do not need to stress all the time that I am feeling great being with the club. As far as leaving [Borussia Dortmund] that is no issue for me, and I am not affected by the transfer release clause."

The 24-year-old added: "I am now at an age where I have to take the next step up. That means: in every game to give even more and to push myself to get better and better."

Manchester United, who expect to appoint Louis van Gaal as their new manager this week, have made a £27m bid for the Southampton and England full-back Luke Shaw.
