That’s me done for the night. A brilliant end to a frustrating match. Both sides will feel like they could have won it, but ultimately one of the goals of the season earned Bournemouth a deserved draw. Until next time, bye!

Ben Fisher's match report from the Vitality Stadium

This is what the result does to the table. Bournemouth are up to sixth!

There were 45 shots in that match, with 29 coming from Bournemouth. That’s a record for the Cherries in the Premier League.

Full-time: Bournemouth 1-1 West Ham

Bournemouth will feel like that it is two points dropped, despite coming back into the match, late, and in spectacular style.

90+8 min: Both keepers make good saves to smother potentially dangerous attacks. I would give the player of the match award to Fabianski, personally.

90+7 min: “I was drifting off to sleep on the sofa, and not even a nonsense VAR handball could get my blood running, but after Enes Ünal’s sublime rocket of a free kick I’m so hyped I worry I won’t sleep a wink tonight,” emails Kári Tulinius.

90+6 min: Bournemouth piling on the pressure. Billings finds Brooks with a diagonal, the Welshman bringing it down expertly before crossing to the back post, where Mavropanos is forced to head behind. Two further blocks from the corner and West Ham clear their lines.

90+4 min: The Vitality Stadium is rocking now, West Ham are clinging on. There is a slip at the back for West Ham, and Unal briefly threatens to race through on goal, but Kilman makes yet another great block.

90+2 min: Bournemouth now have nine goals after the 81st minute in the Premier League this season. That is the highest in the division, with Manchester City second with seven goals. Can the home side push for a winner?

90 min: Eight minutes added on! I think that was mainly for the VAR review but that is more than I was expecting.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-1 West Ham (Unal 89)

Bournemouth win a free kick nearly 30 yards out and dead centre of the pitch. The wall is positioned one side, Fabianski the other and Unal, who has barely had a kick since coming on, bends one into the top corner! Wooooooooooow! One of the goals of the season! Bournemouth have a deserved goal, and they are back in it.

Updated

GOAL! Bournemouth 0-1 West Ham (Paqueta 87 pen)

A big delay while the VAR makes his decision, and Bournemouth do their best to disrupt Paqueta as he prepares to take the penalty. The Brazilian steps up … goal! It was a stuttering run up, but Paqueta send Kepa the wrong way and West Ham lead!

Updated

VAR penalty review for West Ham!

83 min: Wan-Bissaka bursts forward and crosses for Fullkrug but his bullet header is straight at Kepa! A yard either side and that was surely a goal. Hang on, referee Chris Kavanagh is talking to the VAR, and they are looking at a potential handball! Adams may have got his arm on that cross from Wan-Bissaka! Oh, that’s very harsh. There’s a slight nick on the arm, and Adams was running at pace. But it was away from his body. Chris Kavanagh awards the penalty!

Updated

81 min: Billings is straight into the action, latching onto a neat cut back … blocked by Kilman. The ball rebounds to Billings, who rolls it back to Christie, and Fabianski makes a brilliant save from the Scot! Further blocks go in, and West Ham survive!

Updated

80 min: Bournemouth make two more changes, Unal and Billings for Evanilson and Kluivert.

79 min: Kluivert finds some room outside West Ham’s box and pings one two yards over the bar. That’s over 20 attempts on goal by Bournemouth, now.

77 min: Bournemouth are dominating possession but lacking quality in the final third. Kluivert bursts clear on the right, well found by Cook, but Soucek is there on the penalty spot to defend the cross.

74 min: West Ham make two changes: Teenager Ollie Scarles makes his Premier League debut (his only previous senior appearance was in the Conference League two years ago), coming on for the booked Alvarez. Summerville is on for Kudus, a like for like change.

71 min: Chance for West Ham! The visitors have rarely threatened this second half, apart from set plays, but Fullkrug digs out a nice pass to Kudus. The West Ham man takes it nicely in his stride, but a wonderful sliding tackle from Zabarnyi means Kudus is denied! Ooooooo, you fancied the Ghanaian on his left foot, there.

69 min: Brooks has shown a couple of nice touches since coming on.

67 min: Bournemouth make a double change and it’s surprising to see Semenyo come off for Brooks, is that a fitness issue? Semenyo walks straight down the tunnel, which means he’s either annoyed or injured.

American international Tyler Adams also comes off for Smith. Jesús Pérez, Pochettino’s assistant with USMNT, is watching on from the stands.

64 min: Zabarnyi is caught by Bowen while making an excellent sliding tackle but hauls himself up to the ground. Looks like Lopetegui has also been cautioned but I have to admit I’m not sure what for.

62 min: Yellow card for Alvarez, who drags Semenyo down on a Bournemouth counter-attack.

60 min: Looks like West Ham will alter their shape, with Bowen dropping back into midfield and Fullkrug leading the line as a target man. They definitely need something to change, Bournemouth have been well on top this second half.

58 min: West Ham are hanging on! They make a substitute, Fullkrug on for Soler, just before the corner but nearly concede at the back post as Zabarnyi outjumps the German substitute, nodding his header just wide.

Updated

56 min: Bournemouth go close! West Ham are woefully out of position and the Cherries break at pace, outnumbering the visitors four to three. Christie feeds Ouattara, who crosses for Semenyo at the back post … blocked superbly by Kilman! That was absolutely essential defending.

54 min: “Speaking of the world’s most lovable wheeler-dealer Harry Redknapp (apart from Arthur Daley, maybe… look it up, kids), might Lopetegui take a punt on Marcus Rashford?” emails Justin Kavanagh. “He’ll need to sign a forward in January, surely, given Antonio’s year-long projected absence. West Ham are a proper counter-attacking side, so Rashford would find a good home there”.

Think this is a non-starter because of the money involved. Rashford’s salary of £365,000 a week means only a few clubs could afford him, I don’t whether West Ham could pay even half of that. What’s more, West Ham spent well over £100m in the summer and surely won’t have enough dosh. Also, Fullkrug is on the bench, and can rotate with Bowen up front.

52 min: Kudus is yet to burst into life yet. He’s an elite player but has so far been subdued.

49 min: Fabianski has been a busy man in these opening moments of the second half, with both Semenyo and Christie stinging the palms of the West Ham goalkeeper.

47 min: Ouattara darts in from the left but Fabianski turns it around for a corner, from which Bournemouth try a snazzy short routine which ends with rather a lame shot from Cook, straight to Fabianski.

Peeeeeeep! We’re underway again in Bournemouth. No changes from either side.

If you missed it, there was some awfully sad West Ham news on Friday.

Half-time: Bournemouth 0-0 West Ham

It’s all square at the break.

45 min: Two minutes added on here.

Huge save from Fabianski!

44 min: Ouattara denied by the Polish keeper! Semenyo tries his luck with his left, the ball ricochets kindly to Ouattara, completely unmarked at the back post, but Fabianski flies across his goal and makes a massive save with his legs!

Updated

42 min: Coufal breezes past Ouattara in front of the delighted West Ham fans, and a further slip from Cook gives impetus to the Hammers’ attack. Wan-Bissaka crosses from the left to the back post, Kerkez gets a weak header on the ball and Soucek has a great chance as the ball falls to him … but slices it wide!

41 min: Kudus juggles with the ball in midfield but Cook is having none of that, clattering the West Ham man to the ground. Ouch.

39 min: A bit of a lull here. Both teams started brightly but it’s been a bitty few minutes.

37 min: Evanilson is caught on the ankle and retreats to the sideline. I think he’s going to be OK, though.

35 min: MBMer’s curse strikes again. Just as I typed my last entry, Huijsen gives the ball away needlessly. Typical.

33 min: What a player Huijsen is. Just 19, he stands at 6ft5in and looks to have real composure on the ball. Born in the Netherlands, he is a Spain Under-21 international and has already played for Juventus and Roma.

31 min: Mavropanos takes a nasty fall and looks in some discomfort, but is going to be able to continue. I think he may have sprained his wrist, but the Greek soldiers on.

29 min: Soler goes close! The Spaniard wriggles clear on the left side of Bournemouth’s box. He feins to hit with his left, but checks inside and just curls one wide with his right foot. Good effort.

27 min: “Speaking of left backs, the former Arsenal (and West Ham) stalwart Nigel related to the Bournemouth substitute Ben Winterburn?” asks Peter Oh.

He is not, if this photo is anything to go by. Ben Winterburn is a midfielder, although he can play in defence and was playing on loan in non-league for Weymouth as recently as last season. So this is quite the rise for the 20-year-old.

25 min: Bowen gets a sneaky shot in for West Ham at the near post, Kepa is equal to it and gathers at the second attempt.

23 min: Soler picks up the first booking of the evening, giving Semenyo a nudge when the Bournemouth man threatened to break clear on one of those mazy runs. A tactical foul, I think you’d call it.

21 min: Brian Robson, via email, is first with the right answer to my quiz question: it’s Fabianski.

19 min: Given Bournemouth’s recent run, three wins on the bounce going into this game, this has been a really confident start from West Ham, who earn another corner. Kepa flaps at the delivery hopefully, and is lucky to be able to grab the ball at the second attempt inside his six-yard box.

West Ham hit the bar!

16 min: Kudus breaks a tackle and threads a beautiful slide rule pass through the heart of Bournemouth’s defence to Bowen. The Englishman doesn’t have the raw pace to burst away from Huijsen, but he instead checks on the edge of the area and bends a beautiful shot that hits the upright. Kepa was nowhere near that, a complete passenger.

Updated

Bournemouth hit the post!

13 min: The Cherries go route one, and so nearly take the lead! Semenyo beats Wan-Bissaka to a flick on, Evanilson hopefully flicks onto Kluivert, who nods down to Semenyo … but his shot only flicks the outside of the post! It felt like the ball only bounced once or twice in that entire move and West Ham – so normally reliable in the air – were nearly undone.

Updated

10 min: West Ham, who have looked lively, come forward with Kudus, who is playing left wing today. The Ghanaian switches the play to Paqueta, who dances into the Bournemouth box but has his shot blocked.

8 min: Pop quiz: This season Jordan Pickford became the 20th goalkeeper to reach 300 Premier League appearances. Who is the only other active goalkeeper currently playing in the Premier League to achieve this feat.

Hint: it’s a topical question .

6 min: Paqueta has his pocket picked in midfield by Kluivert and Bournemouth counter. Semenyo finds Christie on the edge of West Ham’s area, but the Scot’s shot is crucially blocked by Soler. Christie has an ace left foot, but West Ham did well to get something on the shot.

4 min: Coufal, who has never scored for West Ham, gets the better of Kerkez on the right. The Czech canters into the Bournemouth area but the angle is tight and the right black fluffs his lines, skewing a shot high and wide.

2 min: Kerkez, who has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United and Liverpool, makes one of those trademark underlaps and gets to the byline, but it’s a good block from Mavropanos to clear the danger.

Peeeeeep! And we’re off on the south coast.

The teams are out! Let’s go.

For what it’s worth, West Ham were lucky to beat Wolves last Monday.

This was the xG …

West Ham 1.01
Wolves 1.63.

… and Wolves, whose defeat surely contributed to the sacking of Gary O’Neil at the weekend, were also unlucky to be on the receiving end of a few tenuous refereeing decisions.

This looks like a very cryptic (and slightly worrying for West Ham fans) pre-match message from Lucas Paquetá.

According to Google, this translates as:

I’m not from here
I will return home
He comes to get me and with him I will go!

However, it appears that these are just lyrics to a Brazilian gospel song. Fabrizio Romano, stand down.

Speaking of left-backs, this interview with Milos Kerkez is well worth your time.

Both West Ham left backs, Emerson and Cresswell, are out of the squad. Emerson is suspended, having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during last Monday’s 2-1 win over Wolves. Wan Bissaka will swap flanks tonight from right back, with Coufal coming to play in his normal position.

The teams!

Bournemouth: Arrizabalaga, Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez, Christie, Cook, Ouattara, Kluivert, Semenyo, Evanilson.

West Ham: Fabianski, Coufal, Mavropanos, Kilman, Wan-Bissaka, Alvarez, Soucek, Kudus, Soler, Lucas Paqueta, Bowen.
Subs: Areola, Summerville, Fullkrug, Luis Guilherme, Ings, Irving, Casey, Scarles, Orford.

Preamble

Welcome to the Harry Redknapp Derby. The famous Dorset local, a former player and manager of both these teams, will undoubtedly have made the short trip to the Vitality Stadium tonight from his nearby residence in Sandbanks.

And why not? The Vitality might be the smallest stadium in the Premier League, and the second smallest in Premier League history behind Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road, but it certainly packs a decent punch under the lights. And with Bournemouth riding high in seventh and able to go level on points with Manchester City in fifth, life is pretty sweet right now for the Cherries.
